What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.

Westchester Hebrew High School (“WHHS”, “we”, “us”) runs this website and our admissions and family portals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do and do not do with it.
What we collect
We only collect information you give us, plus basic technical data needed to run the site.

| Donations | Handled by Givebutter. Card details are entered on Givebutter’s systems and never reach our website. |
| Automatically | Standard server and security logs, including IP address and browser type. When you consent to be texted we also record the time, the page, and the wording you agreed to. |
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry, arrange a visit, or register your family for an open house.
- To process an application and communicate with you about it.
- To send school communications you have asked for, including text messages where you have given consent.
- To run, secure and improve the site.
- To meet our legal and accreditation obligations as a school.
Text messages
We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your mobile phone number or your text messaging consent with any third party for their own marketing purposes. Consent to receive text messages from WHHS is used only by WHHS, only for the programme you agreed to, and is never passed to anyone else.
We text families only where they have opted in, and only about school matters, such as admissions follow-up, open house and visit details, conference reminders, transportation and bus alerts, and school closures or emergencies. Message frequency varies by programme. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by calling the school. Reply HELP for help. Full details are in our Text Messaging Terms.
We keep a record of each consent, including when it was given, how, and the exact wording shown, so we can demonstrate that a message was requested. We keep these records for as long as mobile carrier rules require.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the school, and only so far as they need it to do that work:
- Zehut, our student information system, which holds admissions and student records.
- FACTS Grant & Aid, for tuition assistance assessment.
- Givebutter, for donations.
- Resend, for sending email, and our text messaging provider for sending SMS.
- Vercel and Supabase, which host the site and its database.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a student or the school community.
Student information
Records relating to enrolled students are education records and are handled in line with our obligations as a school, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Applicant information is treated with the same care.
How we protect it
Access is limited to staff who need it. Data is encrypted in transit, applicant documents are held in access-controlled storage, and the portal signs you in with an emailed one-time code rather than a shared password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you or your child, and ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw text messaging consent at any time by replying STOP or calling us.
- Unsubscribe from email using the link in any message, or by contacting us.
- Ask us to delete information, where we are not required to keep it.
Children
This site is intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement. A student applicant’s details reach us through their parent or guardian as part of an application.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting text messaging will be reflected in our Text Messaging Terms as well.
